Puddle Boots

Drip, drop, rain on the street,Yellow boots on both my feet.Jump in one and jump in two,Splash! The puddle jumped on you!
Why it helps
A rainy day rhyme that takes the child’s side: the rain is the fun part. The last line flips the joke, which is exactly the sort of silliness three-year-olds repeat all day.
How to use it
Say it at the door while the boots go on, then again at the first puddle. Indoors, a cushion on the floor makes a good puddle.
